Drug Targeting– Challenges in evaluating pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamics and safety aspects of drug targeting
The Section of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism within the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society is pleased to welcome you to the 14th Symposium on Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism (previously known as the “Rosenön meeting”). The aim of the Symposium series is to highlight hot topics within the field.
Drug Targeting is a collation of methods to actively increase concentration of drug to cells and tissues of interest. Approaches to achieve drug targeting can be done using various approaches, such as drug formulations or conjugating the active drug to a drug targeting ligand. These approaches can improve the therapeutic window for drugs by means of improved safety by mitigation of off- target effects, reduce the therapeutic dose, can expand the drugable target space and have potential to be used for different types of drug modalities (i.e. small molecule, peptides, nucleotide therapeutics). Although, these methods have shown promising effects in pre-clinical and clinical trials they also come with experimental, bioanalytical, data analytical and regulatory challenges to actually demonstrate and study drug targeting. The focus on 14th Symposium is to address the pharmacokinetic, bioanalytical, pharmacodynamics, safety and regulatory aspect of active drug targeting.

Who should attend
This multidisciplinary conference will be of interest to anyone engaged in drug discovery and development. Expected participants include academic and industrial scientists as well as regulatory assessors, working on DMPK, toxicology, pharmacodynamics and pharmaceutics. We also encourage students to attend through a favorable student fee.

Venue and Date
The symposium will take place at Hotel Gothia Towers in Gothenburg on March 22 and at AstraZeneca Gothenburg on March 23.
Participation fee
The participation fee is 2000 SEK (Academy), 1000 SEK (Ph D students and Post-Doc presenting a poster) and 3000 SEK (Industry), before February 8, 2016. After this date the participation fee is 2500 SEK (Academy), 1500 SEK (Ph D students and Post-Doc presenting a poster), and 3500 SEK (Industry). All prices excl. VAT.
The participation fee includes coffee and lunch on March 22- 23. Accomodation is not included in the registration fee.

Poster Session
The program includes a poster session, to which all dparticipants may apply. A number of accepted posters may be selected for oral presentation. Please submit your poster abstracts by e-mail to jenny. hagberg@lakemedelsakademin.se. before February 10, 2017.
